Add Rate to Length
Here’s how it works:
On the first 25 of every repeat, focus on achieving MDPS or Maximum Distance Per Stroke. On the remaining 25s of that repeat, maintain MDPS plus increase your stroke rate by one or more of three levels: mild, medium, or hot. Mild equates to a pace just slightly faster than the first 25, medium equates to a noticeable increase in your heartbeat, and hot equates to working your stroke (length + rate) to the max! You can use this strategy for all four strokes.
