Better Breakouts!

Pardon the pun, but better breakouts can “make or break” your performance at the next competition. How often have you misjudged one and added time? There’s no excuse for this, especially when you consider that you perform 100s of them in practice each week! Your mission is to nail your breakouts as follows:

Your head must break the surface for butterfly the moment you finish your breakout pull—also, no breathing on the first stroke.

Your face (chin up) must break the surface for backstroke when you finish your breakout pull—and no resting on the first few strokes.

The top of your head must break the surface for breaststroke when you finish your underwater kick, and your first above water pull must happen at the same time.

The back of your head must break the surface for freestyle when you finish your breakout pull. You must also breakout with a 6-beat kick and no breathing on the first above water stroke.
