PEAK Coaching Excellence

A great camp curriculum means nothing unless you have a team of great coaches to implement it. PEAK coaches are highly qualified, with an average of 25 years of professional experience from across the country and abroad. Most of our staff has worked with Coach Baker for many years and all employ his positive coaching style. They fully endorse the PEAK mission statement, our holistic training philosophy, and the PEAK Promise. Additionally, they are active participants in the PEAK Your Knowledge Continuing Education program and have completed Red Cross safety training. Passionate and enthusiastic, our coaches assist in making PEAK camps and clinics second to none.

Gregg Tye

Entering 13th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Gregg’s professional swim coaching career spans 47 years. He has assisted in the coaching of 22 Olympians and worked alongside 11 Olympic and National Team coaches. He currently coaches with the Titans Swim Team in Leesburg, Florida, and has trained multiple swimmers to the local, regional, state, and national levels. As a swimmer, Coach Gregg was a world-ranked distance freestyler and a top-ranked swimmer at the NCAA Division 1 level.

Dennis Munson

Entering 12th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Dennis has been a professional swim coach for the past 48 years. He has extensive knowledge and experience at all levels of swimming including the junior and senior national level. He coached Rick Carey as a 10 & Under, who would later become a 3-time Olympic gold medalist at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California. Coach Dennis has been a swim instructor and aquatics director at the Mount Kisco Boys and Girls Club for 40 years. He also served as Head Coach of the Marlins Swim Team and U.S. Masters Swimming at the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester. During that time, Dennis was also named High School Sectional Coach-of-the-Year. In recognition of his 35 years of service, the Mount Kisco Boys and Girls Club renamed their Learn To Swim program the “Dennis Munson Aquatic Program”.

Larry Jukes

Entering 11th Year as PEAK Coach
As the current Head Coach of the CRCY Barracudas Swim Team in Centralia, Illinois, Larry Jukes enjoys the day-to-day challenge of helping swimmers achieve peak performance. Over his 15-year professional swim coaching career, he has qualified multiple swimmers to the state and junior national level. In addition, one member of his team achieved international status by qualifying for the 2012 World Swimming Championships in Istanbul, Turkey, and also earning multiple gold medals at the Central American Games. At age 14, Coach Larry earned a Top 16 ranking in the 100-yard freestyle. He continued his swimming career at Vincennes University where he was a finalist at the NJCAA National Swimming Championships and later served as captain of the swim team at the University of Evansville. While attending college, Coach Larry earned an accounting degree and a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Tim Regan

Entering 9th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Tim has been a professional swim coach for the past 16 years training swimmers to the regional, state, and zone level. He also developed and directed Learn to Swim programs in San Diego, California, and Greenwich, Connecticut. In addition to his full time commitment to coaching, he has served as Vice President of the Westchester County Swimming Association for 10 years and is currently the Co-Chairman of Swim Across America. Coach Tim also trains triathletes in his limited spare time, having qualified more than 30 athletes for sprint and Ironman triathlons. He was a 4-year Varsity Letterman at Villanova University and a valued member of the school’s swim team.

Jeff Sadowski

Entering 9th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Jeff first teamed up with PEAK in 2010. With over 14 years of professional coaching experience, he has spent 10 years as Head Coach for the Hilton High School swim teams in Rochester, New York. There, Jeff has trained numerous athletes to state championships and All-American status, and coached several swimmers to continue on to Division 1 and Division 3 intercollegiate programs. Jeff is the founder and manages a local Learn-to-Swim program which averages over 100 participants per session in his local community.

Richard Mojica

Entering 8th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Richard has coached swimming at the professional level for the past 21 years. His current duties include Head Coach of Boston Latin Academy and Assistant Coach at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts. Among his many coaching strengths, he is a master at identifying and maximizing swimmers’ individual strengths and has trained multiple swimmers to the state, national, and international level. Coach Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Steve Guthrie

Entering 6th Year as PEAK Coach
A professional swim coach for the past 43 years, Coach Steve is a constant source of positive energy and encouragement. For the last 30 years as the Head Coach of De La Salle High School in Concord, California, he has developed more than 20 All-Americans as well as 5 U.S. Olympic Trial qualifiers. He has also been named the California High School Mens Swimming Coach-of-the-Year, and North Coast Section Coach-of-the-Year, plus awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the North Coast Section. Under his tutelage, his team has amassed a winning record of 138 dual meets in a row and 19 league championships in a row. Coach Steve holds a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology, Master of Physical Education Administration, and was a 4-year collegiate athlete in both water polo and swimming.

Roger Kehrt

Entering 6th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Roger has been a professional swim coach for 26 years, training swimmers in the Central Kentucky area. During that time, he’s been named Kentucky Coach-of-the-Year and his teams have dominated the region producing 2 national champions, 11 nationally ranked swimmers, and over 20 individual state champions in this decade alone. In addition to his coaching, Coach Roger holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in special education. He is a loving father to six children.

Lewis Misinay

Entering 6th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Lewis has found his niche by returning to the sport he excelled at as a competitor. In 2015, he was named Kentucky Swimming Age Group Coach-of-the-Year and appointed Head Coach for the 2016 Kentucky Mid-States All-Star Team. In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Coach Lewis was a 6-time NAIA All-American Athlete at Westminster College and a member of the 1988-1990 Pennsylvania High School State Championship Swim Team. He earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree from Logan University and has been a practicing chiropractor for the past 17 years.

Rick Wheeler

Entering 6th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Rick has been a professional swim coach for the past 7 years, having produced top-notch swimmers in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Before moving back to the USA, he served as the aquatics director at the British International School, was the head coach of the local travel team, and hosted Peak Performance Swim Camp in Ho Chi Minh City – a first of its kind in Vietnam. Rick’s soft-spoken approach to coaching and organizational skills are two of his greatest gifts.

Kymmie Johnson

Entering 5th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Kymmie brings over 11 years of experience to the pool deck. She was born in Halifax Nova Scotia, and later moved to Toronto, Ontario, and trained under Coach Nick Baker. She relocated to the USA in 1987, and currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona, where she is a licensed professional massage therapist. In addition to massage therapy, she specializes in working with competitive swimmers via strength training and sport-specific conditioning. Coach Kymmie is truly passionate about health and fitness and was instrumental in developing the PEAK OUT! Dry-Land Training Video.

Dave Cracknell

Entering 4th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Dave’s 30 years of professional swim coaching experience spans several countries including New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the USA. He is also a world-renowned triathlon and swim coach to multiple Olympians and elite age group athletes. Dave has been a member of multiple Canadian National Triathlon Teams, competed in the Commonwealth Games, and is an Ironman Hawaii World Championship finisher. In New Zealand and Canada, he taught physical education and mathematics at secondary schools for 15 years, and also coached swimming, water polo, and basketball. Coach Dave currently swims Masters in Florida and Canada and competes in open water swim events around the globe. He graduated from York University and Queen’s University in Canada and has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education.

Mark Senneff

Entering 4th Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Mark has been a professional swim coach for over 11 years at both the club and high school level. A teacher by trade, he spent 6 years as the head swim coach at a Miami inner city school. He enjoyed the process of developing swimmers from the ground up and qualified a number of swimmers to the state level. In 2013, Coach Mark and his wife Angelica founded the Al Bustan Manta Rays Swim Team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Through their combined efforts, they’ve successfully developed trophy winners at the national level. In 2016, their team hosted the Saudi Arabia National Swimming Championships. Coach Mark and his wife have also hosted Peak Performance Swim Camp in Riyadh for multiple years – a first of its kind in Saudi Arabia.

Jody Bergstrom

Entering 3rd Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Jody has coached swimming for the past 10 years, training both age group and masters swimmers. She divides her time coaching students privately, coaching a U.S. Masters team, and working as a radiologic technologist in the Boston area. While Jody puts in long days, she is extremely passionate about improving every swimmer she coaches. Jody held a U.S. national swimming record for the 200m IM in high school and earned Women’s Swimming MVP and All-American while swimming at Ohio State University. She graduated from Ohio State University with a BS in Radiologic Technology.

Turk Dogruyol

Entering 3rd Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Turk brings 15 years of experience all the way from Istanbul, Turkey. Before he committed to swim at college in the USA, Turk swam at the professional level in Turkey for 11 years. Since then he has been coaching professionally in the USA at the intercollegiate, club, and high school levels. He has coached a NAIA National Champion, dozens of All-American swimmers, and USA Swimming state and regional qualifiers and champions. Turk graduated with a master’s degree in business administration in addition to a bachelor’s degree in sports management.

Mary Fowler

Entering 3rd Year as PEAK Coach
With 7 years of professional swim coaching experience, Coach Mary has made a big splash in swimming. She is the Head Coach of the TKS Sharks of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and responsible for both the junior and senior teams. Coach Mary is also the aquatics director of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, organizing and teaching swimming to more than 1,500 students. In addition, she played a key role in creating the League of International Swim Teams.

Scott Gainey

Entering 3rd Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Scott brings over 24 years of coaching and teaching experience to the pool deck. He was awarded Regional Coach-of-the-Year in 2017 and 2018. During his most recent work with RACE Aquatics in Bowling Green, KY, he produced 4 Junior National Qualifiers in 4 years, and took the team from 30th to 4th place at Sectionals. Scott has also coached the Longhorn Aquatics and Nitro Swimming teams in Texas, and Irvine Novaquatics in California. He has qualified swimmers in the following ranks: Olympic Trials Qualifiers, Commonwealth Games Qualifiers, Jamaican National Record Holder (50 Free), and a host of national, regional and sectional qualifiers and champions.

Keith Harrison

Entering 3rd Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Keith has coached swimming at the professional level for the past 6 years and trained multiple swimmers in the Boston area to regional, state, and zone level competition. He divides his time as the assistant head coach of a USA swim team, a Boston high school team, a local recreational team, and an adult U.S. Masters team. Coach Keith puts in long days and is extremely passionate about improving every swimmer he coaches. Recently, one of his most dedicated swimmers received a full swimming scholarship to college. Keith was a state high school record holder in the 200 Breaststroke and a Massachusetts All-Scholastic Award Winner.

Sean Quackenbush

Entering 3rd Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Sean is an accomplished and experienced athlete and coach. He was a 3-time Big Ten Champion at the University of Minnesota, winning titles in the 100 Fly, 200 Fly, and 400 Medley Relay, and breaking several Big Ten records. He is also a 12-time NCAA All-American and a University of Minnesota Swimming Hall of Fame inductee. Sean was named to the USA National Swim Team and swam in the US Olympic Trials, World Cup Games, and the US Open, where he was a Gold and Silver medalist. Following his competitive swimming career, Sean was an Assistant Coach for the Division 1 swim program at Michigan State University. In 2016, he became Head Coach and Aquatics Director at Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, California. Sean holds a MS in Sport Psychology from MSU.

Tim Brown

Entering 2nd Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Tim has been a professional swim coach for the past 25 years, coaching over 100 state champions at multiple levels and 25 All-Americans. He is best known for his enthusiastic and motivational coaching approach. He helped build the Central Iowa Aquatics swim team from 10 swimmers to more than 200, and ranking in the top 3 in Iowa for 15 consecutive years. Tim was voted Conference Coach-of-the-Year twice in 2003 and 2005, and today more than 20 of his former swimmers are now swimming coaches throughout the country. Tim attended Texas A&M University and swam on their collegiate team for 2 years.

Liam Tully

Entering 2nd Year as PEAK Coach
Coach Liam has over 19 years of personal swimming experience and a degree in Health and Exercise Science. He is currently an Assistant Coach at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. In addition to coaching at the college level, he has been a Special Olympics swim coach for the past 4 years. His long term goal is to become one of the top swim coaches in the nation. Coach Liam is also the owner of bealifeguard.net, a licensed training partner with the American Red Cross, offering CPR and lifeguard training.

Chris Williams

Entering 2nd Year as PEAK Coach
With 10 years of professional swim coaching experience, Coach Chris is the founder and Head Coach of the YMCA Yellow Jackets Swim Team in Lebanon, Missouri. His team is currently ranked number one amongst YMCA swim teams in Missouri. Chris attributes much of his coaching success to his four years of college swimming at Truman State University, where he not only captained the team, but achieved the honor of Varsity Letterman four years in a row. He earned a BS in Physical Therapy and Exercise Science, and is now a full-time physical therapist for the U.S. Army.
