10 & Under Mini-Camp
The 10 & Under Mini-Camp is our introductory camp for competitive swimmers ages 7-10. Approximately 75% of the dedicated pool time is spent on technical conditioning with the remaining 25% on physical conditioning.
This camp is only available at our Greenwich, CT and Mt. Kisco, NY locations during the summer months. For all other locations, swimmers ages 7-10, may participate in the Advanced Training Camp - provided they meet the minimum requirements listed below.
Eligible swimmers must be between 7-10 years of age. There is no minimum time requirement, however swimmers must be familiar with the four competitive strokes and turns. In addition, they must be able to swim 200 yards/meters freestyle with correct side breathing technique.
Afternoon in-water sessions run two hours. Each session is divided into a series of components:
- Butterfly Stroke Progression
- Butterfly Swim Set
- Backstroke Stroke Progression
- Backstroke Swim Set
- Breaststroke Stroke Progression
- Breaststroke Swim Set
- Freestyle Stroke Progression
- Freestyle Swim Set
- Start Progressions
- Turn Progressions
Components are mixed together to create the ideal learning and training experience.
Each in-water session is divided into three levels of challenge with Level 1 being the most challenging and Level 3 the least. Having three levels of challenge provides us with greater flexibility and creates a more meaningful experience for every swimmer.
Daily dry-land sessions are approximately 30-minutes in length. The sessions are designed to improve general posture, core strength, explosive power and flexibility.
Swimmers also participate in a daily 30-minute classroom session. Topics include mental conditioning, nutrition and technique. Video presentations are also included.
