What is the ultimate event in swimming? If you picked the Individual Medley, you’re correct! The reason why is that swimmers must be proficient in all four strokes to excel. The turns are also unique to this special event, especially the turn from back-to-breast. Did you know that there are four back-to-breast turns? And we teach all four of them at the clinic.

Choosing to train and compete in the Individual Medley has many long-term benefits; the main one being that it develops all four strokes, giving swimmers more options and opportunities. It also increases the chance of earning a college swimming scholarship because IM swimmers are very much in demand. Having one weak stroke can be extremely detrimental, so that’s why we dedicate an entire practice to each of the four strokes. Saturday morning starts off with the butterfly, the butterfly turn, and the butterfly-to-backstroke turn. The same process is repeated with the other three strokes over the course of the weekend clinic.

Created by Olympic Coach Nick Baker, the clinic’s curriculum is second to none. Coach Baker has authored five books on swimming and produced four swimming videos. A 4-Stroke Handbook, to be used as a reference, is also included. The clinic offers many unique features and is highly recommended for swimmers with Olympic dreams.

SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE

The schedule below outlines a sample agenda for the day. Most clinic schedules run daily 8:00am to 3:00pm or 9:00am to 4:00pm, depending on the location.
